I created a simple website for a small business I just started. I signed up with Google Ad Words (which can get expensive), but I was wondering what the best way would be to get my website to show up in search engines like google and yahoo. Is there a company online that will do it for a flat rate or a monthly rate. I’ve searched this, but it just seems so complicated.

one way to make money is definately with a website promoting a small business. There are many ways you can get traffic to your website. You can pay a company or a person that specialize in SEO.
you can google for them. IMO, many of the will submite your website to different search engines. you can probably do this for free if you take your time. Many of them also will recommend using Adwords.
There is nothing wrong with companies that help build traffic to websites, but there are quite a few scam out there and also, most programs will charge you even if you dont get the results you were hoping for.
Anyways, ive opted to use free traffic exchange programs like entrecard (for blogs), blogupp (widget) and a few traffic exchange surfing programs. In less then 2 weeks since i got my blog up and running i’ve been been able to generate over 1000 views to my blog. which is not bad traffic wise and coming straight out of the gate with my first blog.

well i know a company(magicsolv.com) which helps in Website Marketing.They could help you. For your info I used there services, found it best for me and yielding better ROI. Their services are cheap so that it is easy to afford.

Make sure that a number of related sites or blogs that are already indexed in Google link to your site for the keywords related to your business. Google probably won’t index your site unless it has at least one other INDEXED site linking to it. Traffic like this will be free.
There probably are sites that ”optimize" your site for a fee but it will probably cost a lot more than Ad Words. Work on getting free traffic, links and start a simple blog just to give you more imbound links to your site.
