To the Editor: There is an underlying connection between your May 22 front-page article about President Trump’s Facebook ads (“Trump’s Facebook Ad Blitz? It’s Worked Before”) and Kara Swisher’s Op-Ed article the same day about monopolies (“Taming the Apex Predators of Tech”). Both articles speak to the extraordinary power of the advertising model used by Google and Facebook.
